Sean M Brown
Today, Parents for Great Camden Schools would like to present our next speaker for Education Works: Sean Matthew Brown
Sean, is the CEO of DuBois Douglass Strategies, which supports grant writing and strategic planning for grassroots organizations and small non-profits.
This role has grown out of his efforts in Camden as a community organizer and policy analyst, specializing in community development, local government, non-profit communications, and public and higher education reform.
Sean is the son of public school teacher and father of two boys. He is a former Camden City school board member, where during his time he served as the chairman of the policy committee between 2010-2013.
A proud graduate from Rutgers University, he holds a BA in Urban Studies (2010) and Master’s of Public Administration (2015) with a Community Development concentration.
Sean has been featured in the Courier Post's Top 35 leaders under 35 years of age. In 2010, Next American City included him as of the "Best and Brightest". In 2015, Sean completed a fellowship for New Leaders Council, a progressive leadership program with chapters across the United States and has also served as an AmeriCorps VISTA in Camden and New Orleans.
One success he cherishes has been the time spent with the Young Urban Leaders; an organization founded while Sean was an undergraduate student at Rutgers University. As its volunteer director, the organization implemented programs to support leadership development for young adults.
When asked what is something most people don't know: Sean shared that he writes folk songs in his infrequent spare time.
